Ever since Neymar left FC Barcelona eight years ago in 2017, rumours of a possible return to the club circulate in every transfer window.
Back in January, when the global superstar was leaving Saudi Arabia, there was talk of a potential move back to Barça but nothing came of it as he ended up returning to Santos FC.
However, links of a possible switch in the summer have once again surfaced, considering that Neymar is keen on a return to European football before next year’s FIFA World Cup.
However, according to Fichajes, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has taken a clear stance regarding the rumours linking Neymar with a return to the club.
The German manager has defined the type of players he wants for his squad, and the Brazilian forward does not fit into those plans.

After a turbulent spell in Saudi Arabia and a series of physical setbacks, he is eager to rediscover the form that once made him one of the most dangerous attackers in the world.
With the goal of leading Brazil in the upcoming World Cup, the player is keen on a move back to Europe, where several clubs have already shown interest in his availability.
Neymar, for his part though, harbours hopes of a return to Barcelona where he spent four successful years between 2013 and 2017.
However, the current coaching staff under Flick is committed to building a team around different qualities. At 33 years of age and with a recent history of injuries, Neymar does not align with this strategy for recruitment.
