How much Milan could profit from Theo Hernandez sale

With his future at Milan now in doubt, it is worth noting that Theo Hernandez’s sale would represent a more than comfortable profit for the club.
The left-back was lambasted by fans and media, including former Rossoneri director Zvonimir Boban, for the dismissal in last night’s Champions League play-off against Feyenoord.
It prompted some to suggest that the incident could affect his contract negotiations and therefore future at the club, because his current deal only runs to June 2026.

Calcio e Finanza calculated that Milan can make a big profit from his sale, even if not for the €80m that he perhaps could’ve commanded a couple of years ago.
The 27-year-old was purchased from Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 for €22.8m.
That means that between amortisation over the years, his value on the balance sheet in the summer will be only €2.85m.
Anything more than that would represent a profit, not to mention the savings of €8.1m gross on his salary if he was sold before the start of the 2025-26 season.
