Barcelona are being tagged as favourites as they gear up for the Copa del Rey final later tonight.
The Catalans have already gotten the better of Real Madrid twice this season and will hope to make a third tonight.
Barça are also one of the few clubs in Europe in contention for a treble. Securing the Copa del Rey, therefore, could be a step in the right direction.
But in addition to prestige, winning the Copa del Rey could also bring along economic benefits to Barcelona.
A recent report from MARCA has detailed how much a team can possibly earn through the Copa Del Rey.
As per the report, RFEF awards around €1.2 million to the club that lifts the trophy. This amount includes a fixed participation fee and bonuses collected through each round.

The runner-up receives slightly less, amounting to a figure of around €1 million.
On top of the federation prize, there is also the income from the final’s ticket sales. With La Cartuja Stadium hosting more than 50,000 fans and ticket prices ranging between €72 and €270, a strong turnout is expected.
After organisational costs are deducted, the remaining box office revenue is split: one-third goes to the RFEF, while the two finalists split the rest.
This means Barcelona could earn around an extra €1 million just from the matchday itself.
Therefore, winning the Copa del Rey could bring Barcelona over €2 million when combining the prize money and their share of ticket revenue.
While this fee might not seem significant, there is an added bonus of winning the Copa Del Rey: the winner gets direct qualification to next season’s Spanish Super Cup, which itself could generate a financial boost of €6-8 million for a club like Barcelona or Real Madrid.
