Injuries have been a constant hindrance for FC Barcelona this season and quite the unwelcome thing to deal with. In terms of form and consistency, the team has shown what it is capable of under the orders of Hansi Flick already. However, regular injuries and setbacks are often a hurdle that tries to ruin the work being done at Barcelona.
Even in the last game before the start of the ongoing international break, La Blaugrana ended up losing to Real Sociedad in what was arguably one of the team’s worst performances this season. From start to finish, the team lacked creativity and were suffocated throughout the game.
One player who many believe could have changed the entire complexion of that game was Lamine Yamal. The €150 million-rated Barcelona superstar has been surreal all season and his impact was highlighted even further through that defeat in which he could not be present due to an ankle injury.
Initially, it was suspected that he could be out of action for two to three weeks as a result of said injury. However, Javi Miguel has now provided a promising update that suggests that the return of Lamine Yamal could end up coming at the perfect moment and well before it was previously thought to happen.
As per the update, the Barcelona winger is set to return to action right after the international break concludes. That game would be the one against Celta Vigo away from home in La Liga, which is set to take place on the 23rd of November once all the players have returned.
However, Javi Miguel did state that the player will return in that game as a substitute rather than as a starter. This makes sense given that the youngster would have just returned from injury and it would be an unlikely sight to see him starting right away. Moreover, in the same tweet, the journalist also confirmed that Robert Lewandowski would return against Celta Vigo as well. The Pole, however, will reportedly be a starter for that game.
Taking care of young players is always a priority, and perhaps even more so when it comes to a superstar like Lamine Yamal. Despite still being just 17, the recent Kopa Trophy winner is already one of the biggest names in football and protecting him is crucial for the club both on and off the pitch.
