Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde’s return for the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg against Inter Milan remains uncertain, but there remains a slight possibility that he could come back for the crucial encounter against the Serie A side.
In fact, according to a report from AS, a meeting is scheduled between the player and the medical staff today to determine whether he is fit enough to rejoin the team for the crucial match.
The outlet mentions that if Balde is not fully recovered, the club will take no risks and delay his return until this weekend’s match against Real Valladolid.
It must be noted that Balde has been sidelined after sustaining a hamstring injury during a match against Leganes.
The injury kept him out of action for around three weeks, raising doubts about his readiness for the Champions League clash against Inter.

Despite his desire to return to the field as soon as possible, the club is taking a cautious approach due to the nature of hamstring injuries, which have a high risk of relapse if not properly managed.
Despite the player’s wish, Barcelona are being mindful of his long-term fitness. The club is aware that rushing him back too soon could lead to further complications, so everything will depend on how the player feels in the lead-up to the match.
If necessary, Balde will undergo a fitness test to assess his readiness and determine whether he can feature against Inter Milan.
Should the decision be made to hold off on his return until the following weekend, Balde is expected to be fit for the La Liga match against Valladolid on Saturday.
The good thing that will come out of this is that it will allow him to regain full fitness and be fully prepared for the return leg against Inter Milan.
