It appears Leicester City may not be able to call upon a pair of important players for a while longer. City could do with (arguably) their star central midfielder back in the team. Having Wilfried Ndidi fit would enable playmakers like Facundo Buonanotte and Bilal El Khannouss to be free of defensive duties somewhat. But the Nigerian has been out for quite a spell in fact. That began way back on December 8, 2024 in the match against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Similarly, City have not had Ricardo Pereira available for an even longer time. The Portuguese's absence began on November 2, in the previous year as well. Some of the east Midlands team's biggest problems have been created, caused and calamitous on the right-hand side. I don't want to target the guy unfairly, but James Justin has been heavily to blame for the majority of issues on that flank. And the former FC Porto and OGC Nice man would have likely been in that position. Justin then reverts to the left - if anywhere.
Another person missing from the defending group is goalkeeper Mads Hermansen. The Dane's currently unknown return would surely help ease the Leicestershire outfit's woes too. Not that Jakub Stolarczyk has been unsatisfactory at all. Hopefully we'll get an update on the stopper soon enough. But what have we heard about the aforementioned duo? Well, the injured Ricardo and Ndidi might perhaps be out for longer than expected. That's if we trust a recent report.
As I say, the more freedom for Buonanotte and El Khannouss the better! And I really believe Ndidi would realistically aid that scenario. Though the latter has actually grown into a solid facilitator in his own right.
