Injury update provided on Celta Vigo star Óscar Mingueza | OneFootball

An update on the wellbeing of Celta Vigo star Óscar Mingueza has on Tuesday come to the fore online.

This comes after the defender set alarm bells ringing across the Celta fanbase this past weekend.

En route to a 3-1 La Liga defeat at the hands of Athletic Club, Mingueza – in the midst of a stellar individual opening to the campaign – was forced off with just five minutes on the clock.

At the time, the Celestes pointed towards the former Barcelona talent as having suffered a ‘low-grade elongation or tear of the left adductor muscle’.

Ensuing medical scans, on Tuesday, were in turn carried out to gain a better understanding of the extent of the injury.

And, in a boost for all associated with Celta Vigo, as much confirmed that Mingueza has not suffered a muscle tear.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Based on the results of these imaging tests, it is clear that Mingueza only suffers from a muscle elongation in the adductor muscle, so his period of absence will not exceed two weeks.’
