Inter Face Lineup Dilemmas for Genoa and Napoli Games

Inter have another rare clean week ahead of the Genoa fixture, but they might not be at full strength versus the Grifone due to injury and to manage the players that risk missing the Napoli clash, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays.
Alessandro Bastoni and Nicolò Barella picked up their fourth yellow card against Juventus. They’ll be suspended for accumulation if they are booked in the next round. Simone Inzaghi handles this situation very carefully during matches but usually doesn’t act preventively. The head-to-head meeting will be monumental since both sides are somewhat stumbling at the moment. Only one of the two midfielders may get the nod on Saturday.
In addition, the Inter coach will have to make a decision about Marcus Thuram. He subbed in versus Juventus despite being far from 100 percent due to an ankle injury. He did okay despite looking gingerly at times. The striker was limited in training to open the week. He might be held out to heal completely.
Carlos Augusto didn’t practice regularly either because he suffered a calf contusion versus Juventus. The problem isn’t too worrying, but he’ll be re-evaluated later in the week to determine his availability.
The match with Napoli won’t be decisive point-wise but could be in terms of momentum since both sides aren’t going like gangbusters. While they obviously can’t drop any more points, but their recent woes have been away at not at home, they shouldn’t take any chances. The Genoa tilt is the easier and least important of their next three considering the Coppa Italia one versus Lazio a few days later, offering an opportunity for some sensible rotation.
