Lautaro Martinez was the architect of Inter’s remarkable triumph in Munich last week.

Indeed, he opened the scoring with a fantastic finish before Davide Frattesi snatched away a late win.

As a result, the 27-year-old took his seasonal tally to seven in this year’s Champions League edition.

Lautaro’s seven-goal haul stands as the third-best in Inter’s Champions League history.

Only Samuel Eto’o (eight) and Hernan Crespo (nine) boast a better scoring record than the Argentine superstar.

Interestingly, the Cameroonian’s exploits led Inter to an iconic European success under Jose Mourinho in 2010.

Meanwhile, Crespo’s record-breaking numbers helped the club reach the semi-finals in 2002/23.

Therefore, the omens look good for El Toro as Inter bid to secure a second semi-final appearance in three years.
