Inter Milan have gone three matches without a win for the first time in a year and a half.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, after draws with Monza and Manchester City and then a loss to AC Milan in the derby.

Losses are a part of football, even for the best teams.

But making them a rarity is the key to winning trophies.

Inter managed that last season. They did suffer a few notable defeats, including Copa Italia and Champions League exits against Bologna and Atletico Madrid respectively.

But Inter never went more than one or two matches without getting back to winning ways.

This is in sharp contrast to the season prior to last.

During the 2022-23 campaign, Inter experienced regular setbacks – particularly in Serie A.

The low point of that season was a sequence that saw Inter lose to Spezia, Juventus, and FIorentina, draw with Salernitana, and then lose against Monza.

There was also a Champions League draw with Porto sandwiched in there. It was more positive, however, in that it secured Inter progression to the quarterfinals of the competition.

Inter Winless In Three Matches For First Time In One & A Half Years

Inter bounced back from that truly horrid few weeks in the spring of 2023. They reached the Champions League final of that season, and then won the Serie A title.

But at the start of this season, Inter have had their first sequence of three matches without a win since then.

First, the Nerazzurri drew away to Monza. They could only salvage a point from a late Denzel Dumfries equalizer.

Then, as with the draw against Porto, Inter could be a lot happier with their Champions League result.

A point away to Manchester City in Europe looked like a big feather in Inter’s cap.

But then over the weekend, the Nerazzurri produced a highly underwhelming display against AC Milan in the derby.

Therefore, it has been three matches in which Inter have been unable to take three points.

Now, Inter will be desperate to arrest that trend in their away trip to Udinese on Saturday.
