Beppe Bergomi feels that Inter Milan are looking “tired” this season, and that certain individual players’ performances have dropped off.
Bergomi gave his thoughts on Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908.
The last few weeks have not been particularly kind ones for Inter Milan.
The Nerazzurri have dropped points in four out of their last six Serie A matches.
There have been draws against AC Milan and Napoli, and losses to Fiorentina and Juventus.
And in the meantime, Inter have also had to deal with a number of injuries. There is a particular sense that the fixture list has really taken its toll on the Nerazzurri.
Clearly, this Inter team has taken a beating with so many difficult matches to fight in.
The Nerazzurri have seen injuries piled up. The latest problem has been a concentration of injuries in the wingback role – Federico Dimarco has joined Matteo Darmian, Carlos Augusto, and Nicola Zalewski on the treatment table.

And beyond that, there is no denying that Inter have simply appeared to be missing some freshness and sharpness.
Bergomi noted that in the big matches, “If we compare with last season, now Inter always come out as losers.”
“The quality of their opposition has risen.” he continued. “Look at Napoli [on Saturday.]”
“There’s greater knowledge of how to play against them. Only Atalanta play man-to-man, and in fact Inzaghi’s team play well against them.”
“Now teams regroup. It’s become harder for them.”
Bergomi also noted that “Inter have scored their most recent goals from set pieces.”
“That’s no coincidence. Now opponents hit them hard.”
“And I keep thinking that the team looks tired,” the legendary former Inter defender added. “And has a lot of injuries.”
“Some players have dropped off, they used to put in crazy performances but no longer do.”
