Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta insists there’s no room for criminals and violent people at the football stadiums in Italy.
Speaking to Corriere della Sera via FCInterNews, Marotta addressed the Ultras scandal amid the club’s bid to build a new stadium.
Backed by Oaktree Capital, Beppe Marotta is working around the clock to help the Nerazzurri rebuild the San Siro from scratches.
The Inter bigwig won’t back down despite facing massive bureaucratic issues and needing substantial funds.
Indeed, AC Milan & Inter are hellbent on constructing a state-of-the-art venue in the San Siro area.
However, this ambitious project may cost the Milan clubs up to an eye-watering €1.5 billion.
Meanwhile, the Serie A heavyweights have found themselves at the center of an Ultras scandal.
Both fanbases have taken massive hits during recent police raids, with several prominent Curva Nord and Sud members now behind bars.
Given the situation, Marotta felt obliged to share Inter’s stance on this matter.
“Football is a powerful social phenomenon, and stadiums must guarantee maximum security against violence,” Marotta was adamant.
A number of Inter first-team stars, including Hakan Calhanoglu, had to come forward and testify to their relationships with fans.

Furthermore, investigators also interviewed Simone Inzaghi and Javier Zanetti on this issue.
In the meantime, FIGC president Ezio Simonelli and CEO Luigi De Siervo are working to enhance stadium security.
Indeed, they’ll soon hold a meeting with Minister Matteo Piantedosi to address criminal activities in stadiums.
Milan and Inter have already condemned violence in stadiums.
Moreover, they’ve offered local authorities full cooperation to help bring alleged criminals from their fan ranks to justice.
Now that the investigation is in full swing, both clubs are keen to distance themselves from any illicit activities linked to their supporters.
