There are no fitness problems for Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni ahead of the Supercoppa Italiana final against AC Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
They report that the slight injury scare from Thursday’s match with Atalanta was a false alarm.
Inter defender Bastoni came off during the second half of Thursday’s Supercoppa semifinal against Atalanta.
The reason for the substitution was that the 25-year-old was feeling a bit of a physical problem.
Therefore, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi decided to take zero risks with Bastoni’s fitness.
Subsequently, Carlos Augusto came on to replace Bastoni and see out the rest of the match on the left of the back three.
Bastoni’s fitness was therefore also a bit of a worry in view of the Supercoppa Italiana final.
Inter take on city rivals AC Milan on Monday in what will be a rematch of the 2022 Supercoppa semifinal derby.
The Rossoneri booked their place in the final with a comeback win over Juventus yesterday.
Naturally, Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi will want a player like Bastoni available for Monday’s match.
And according to the Gazzetta, there is no worry regarding the Italian international.
In conclusion, the report states that Bastoni trained well and has definitely shaken off whatever he was dealing with on Thursday.
