FC Barcelona got their hands on another trophy last night as they beat Real Madrid in the final of the Copa del Rey. The game was tied at 2-2 by the end of normal time and was decided only in extra time when Jules Kounde scored for his team in the 116th minute.

However, at one point, it looked like the game would not go to the final, as Real Madrid overturned the game in the 77th minute and were heading towards the full-time whistle with a 1-2 scoreline in their favor.

Fortunately for the Catalans, Ferran Torres took full advantage of a golden opportunity that fell his way in the 84th minute, as he scored into an open net.

This was only the highlight of his game, as the Spaniard gave his all on the pitch. As a result, he got the MVP award for this game, and as Mundo Deportivo has reported, also talked to the media after winning the match.

The forward expressed his joy at winning such an important piece of silverware but was wary of another big game coming ahead:

“I feel tired, but very happy… It was a good time to bring some joy to the fans and to ourselves. Now it’s time to enjoy it, but without overdoing it, because the Champions League semifinals are coming up.”

Ferran Torres also opened up on his playing style:

“I try to work with consistency because, in the end, I have the talent for things to happen.”

Lastly, the Spaniard also expressed his belief that this win will help his team go on to win other big titles going forward:

Ferran Torres completed the Copa del Rey campaign as the top scorer and undoubtedly played a key part in helping his team win the competition. Now, he will be looking to do the same as Barcelona continue to fight for La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.
