After months of negotiations, Joshua Kimmich will sign a contract extension at Bayern Munich.

As reported by BILD, Kimmich will pen a new deal until 2029. On Thursday, the 30-year-old was spotted with his family and advisor Thomas Beheshti at Bayern’s Säbener Straße HQ before training at 13:30 local time.

AFP reported yesterday that Kimmich would extend his contract “in the next few days” while BILD also reported last week that a decision on Kimmich’s future would be made with the supervisory board set to vote on the matter.

Now, after interest from Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, Kimmich’s official contract extension announcement is expected to come later today (March 13).

But at one point, it looked as though neither party would reach an agreement. Bayern withdrew their contract offer for Kimmich last month because those in charge in Bavaria cannot understand why the midfielder has not already agreed to extend his stay while simultaneously being unwilling to discuss the fine details of the contract once again.

Fast forward two weeks, and those problems appear to have been ironed out.

Kimmich is one of the club’s most decorated players, already spending 10 years at the Rekordmeister, winning eight Bundesliga titles, three DFB Pokals, the Champions League, and a Super Cup.
