According to a new report from AS, Carlo Ancelotti’s move to take over the Brazilian national team has effectively been sealed, with only the final signature remaining.
The Italian manager, currently focused on finishing the season strong with Real Madrid, has reached a full agreement with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), who have now agreed to all of his demands—most importantly, to wait until the La Liga campaign concludes.
After months of negotiations and uncertainty, Brazil have backed down on their initial deadlines and are now willing to accommodate Ancelotti’s timing.
While the CBF had originally set May 12, just a day after the highly anticipated Clásico against Barcelona, as their non-negotiable deadline, the latest developments indicate that this date could be revisited, if necessary.
However, the underlying message is clear: Brazil see Ancelotti as their definitive choice and are ready to wait just a little longer to secure him.
Sources close to the CBF have made it clear that the confidence in securing Ancelotti is now stronger than ever. CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues believes he is on the verge of landing his dream appointment.

His strategy has been simple: respect Ancelotti’s priorities, which centre around fighting for La Liga and potentially the Champions League with Real Madrid.
While it is now widely accepted that Ancelotti will not continue at the Santiago Bernabeu beyond this season, there remains a small window of uncertainty.
The Italian tactician has not yet signed the contract and has insisted on seeing out the season before making any formal commitments.
In Brazil, the mood is cautiously optimistic. After initial frustration with the long wait, both fans and sections of the federation are coming around to the idea that waiting for Ancelotti is a worthwhile gamble.
The national team is in a sporting crisis following underwhelming performances and is desperate for leadership and tactical stability, qualities that Ancelotti embodies in abundance.
For now, Ancelotti remains focused on La Liga, but all signs point towards a major change in the summer. Once the domestic season concludes, the Italian maestro is expected to officially become the next coach of the Selecao.
