Despite a rather chaotic first half, FC Barcelona ultimately manage to prevail against Red Star Belgrade in dominant fashion. The Catalan giants managed to score several past their Serbian opponents while ultimately only conceding one goal. So far, Hansi Flick and his Barcelona team continue to look invincible.

A final score of 5-1 saw Barcelona completely decimate Red Star Belgrade at their own home ground in front of the Serbian fans. Through a brace from Robert Lewandowski, and a goal each from Inigo Martinez, Raphinha, and Fermin Lopez was enough to seal the deal, and with a certain Frenchman managing to bag three assists in this game as well.

Here are the player ratings for the Barcelona players.

Player Ratings:

Inaki Pena: 6.0

Unlike his previous few outings, the Spaniard seemed much easier for the Red Star Belgrade players to beat whenever they came in front of him. Hesitated in some key moments as well that could have made things difficult for Barcelona.

Jules Kounde: 10

Was incredible in terms of his defensive contributions, but he was simply unreal while going forward today. With three assists to his name, Jules Kounde essentially got a hattrick of sorts for himself as a fullback in this game. World class performance from the Frenchman.

Pau Cubarsi: 7.0

A strong performance from young Pau Cubarsi was cut short due to an unfortunate injury to the face that led to him being taken off the field. Apart from that, a great showing from the 17-year-old Barcelona defender.

Inigo Martinez: 8.5

Right alongside Pau Cubarsi, Inigo Martinez was a rock at the back and as sharp as always when it came to applying the offside trap. Also managed to be the player who opened the scoring on the night and gave Barcelona a much-needed opening goal.

Gerard Martin: 6.5

Was caught lacking at times, especially when it came to being on the same page as his teammates for the offside trap. Apart from that, however, it was a rather solid showing from Gerard Martin, especially when he pushed up the field.

Marc Casado: 8.0

A great performance from Marc Casado from start to finish, the young La Masia gem managed to be a threat for the opposition with his passing and creativity, but simultaneously always made sure to remain attentive to his defensive duties. Classy performance.

Frenkie de Jong: 7.0

Leading Barcelona as the team captain on the night and finally starting following his return, the Dutchman had a calm and composed game that showed all of his best qualities to keep his team in control.

Lamine Yamal: 7.0

By his standards, this was as quiet a night as he could have. Yet, despite not managing to directly get a goal contribution, Lamine Yamal was able to weave his way through the opposition defenders constantly and was a key piece in terms of consistently linking up with Jules Kounde.

Pedri: 7.0

The young Spanish gem continuously created chances for his teammates and his composure, as always, was quite impressive even when Red Star Belgrade tried to push men towards him. Solid display from the Barcelona midfielder.

Raphinha: 9.0

He simply can not seem to go a game without scoring these days and Raphinha made sure to get his one before he was substituted off in brilliant fashion, and was also crucial in the goal that Robert Lewandowski scored after the Brazilian forward’s shot ricocheted off the post and into the path of the Polish striker. He also directly assisted the first goal that Inigo Martinez scored.

Robert Lewandowski: 9.0

With yet another brace to his name, Robert Lewandowski continues to increase his goal tally in the UEFA Champions League. After having failed to score against Espanyol, the Polish ace came back with a bang as he got two goals for Barcelona in this game.

Substitutes:

Dani Olmo: 6.5

A rather quiet game for Dani Olmo but he managed to create some promising openings.

Fermin Lopez: 8.0

Fighting for each ball, dribbling past his opponents, and showing the character that he possesses with the goal that he scored, a great performance from the young Spaniard.

Sergi Dominguez: 6.0

Came on for Pau Cubarsi and managed to do the bare minimum in terms of what was required of him.

Gavi: 7.0

Put his body on the line within minutes of coming on by clearing a dangerous looking change for the opposition. Since then, made sure to do whatever it took to keep the opponents away from the Barcelona goal.

Pau Victor: N/A
