Liverpool’s injury list is lengthy as they prepare for a massive game immediately following the international break
Liverpool received some mixed news on the injury front during the first international break of the year.
The Reds were handed several injury scares in the wake of their Carabao Cup final defeat by Newcastle as Arne Slot’s side missed out on the chance to claim the first piece of major silverware of the English domestic season.
That loss came just days after exiting the Champions League at the last-16 stage at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain on penalties at Anfield.
Though Liverpool are still firmly on course to clinch the Premier League title this season as they headed into the international break 12 points clear of second-placed Arsenal with nine games remaining.
Slot will be hopeful that the club’s international stars return fit and raring to go as they look to wrap up the title as soon as possible. And with that said, here is all the latest Liverpool injury news and return dates.
Alisson departed the Brazil camp and made an early return to Liverpool for further assessment after suffering a nasty clash of heads with Colombia defender Davinson Sanchez during a World Cup qualifier last week.
Issuing an update on Alisson, Brazil’s team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar confirmed he had suffered a suspected concussion and would undergo tests.
"Alisson suffered a head injury and was replaced due to a suspected concussion," he said.
"We will now follow the CBF protocol, and he will undergo the recommended imaging tests, a CT scan and then a diffusion MRI. If all the tests are normal, we will proceed and perform a cognitive test. Then we will evaluate the player.

"He is normal, without any complaints. He did not report any fainting or memory loss.”
Alisson has since taken to social media to reveal he is fine and will be following protocols.
“Hey guys, just to let you know I’m fine!” he posted on social media. “Just have to follow the protocols! Thanks for the messages.”

Ryan Gravenberch emerged as a new injury concern for Liverpool before a ball had even been kicked on international duty.
The Dutch midfielder started as usual in the Carabao Cup final defeat by Newcastle, but was replaced just over 15 minutes from time by eventual goalscorer Federico Chiesa.
It then emerged that the 22-year-old suffered a knock at Wembley that initially did not prevent him from joining up with the Netherlands squad for their two-legged Nations League quarter-final tie against Spain.
However, the Oranje confirmed that Gravenberch left Ronald Koeman’s training camp on the eve of the home clash with Spain in Amsterdam due to injury and returned to Liverpool for further assessment.
The Netherlands national team said in a statement on Wednesday night: “Ryan Gravenberch has left the Oranje's training camp this evening.
“The midfielder is still suffering from an injury sustained over the weekend that prevents him from playing in the matches against Spain. Take care, Ryan!”

On a more positive note, Harvey Elliott is fine after being seen limping on his way out of Wembley after the Carabao Cup final.
The Liverpool midfielder featured in both of England Under-21’s friendlies against France and Portugal, confirming that he has quickly shaken off the knock suffered late on against Newcastle when he was floored by Joelinton.

Liverpool were without Trent Alexander-Arnold against Newcastle after he suffered an ankle injury in the second-leg loss to PSG, with Jarell Quansah deputising at right-back as expected.
Slot said before the final that Alexander-Arnold would be back before the end of the season, but he could not be sure exactly when.
“So, Trent is indeed not available,” Slot said. “He will not be there at the final. But he is still to be assessed for how long it's going to take but we do expect him back in the end of the season.”
Potential return date: Unknown
The absence of Alexander-Arnold has been compounded by that of chief deputy Conor Bradley, who has not played since suffering a hamstring injury in the 2-2 Premier League draw at Aston Villa last month.
Slot said then that the academy graduate would be out for “a few weeks”, adding: “I cannot tell exactly how many, but it is clear that he went off with a muscle injury and that it is going to take a while before he is back.”

The injured Bradley was left out of the Northern Ireland squad for friendlies against Switzerland and Sweden, so he won’t be back in action until April at the earliest.
Potential return date: April 2025
Continuing Liverpool’s dearth of right-back options, Joe Gomez missed the whole of January with a hamstring injury and then suffered a setback just 10 minutes into his return at Plymouth in the FA Cup.
The England defender underwent surgery and Slot said he would be sidelined for “a long time”, though did add that he could potentially return just before the end of the season.
Potential return date: May 2025
Young midfielder Tyler Morton is currently recovering from a shoulder operation performed in February and it remains to be seen if he will be involved for Liverpool again before the end of the season.
