Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has provided an update on the wellbeing of star striker Erling Haaland.
This comes, for those who may have missed it, after Haaland set alarm bells sounding across the blue half of Manchester on Saturday afternoon.
The Norwegian was for his part afforded his latest starting berth, as Man City welcomed Newcastle United to The Etihad for a Premier League clash.
Late in a dominant 4-0 victory for the Sky Blues, however, Haaland was forced off.
This came after the former Borussia Dortmund talent suddenly pulled up with a knee problem, before going to ground in evident discomfort.
Speaking to the media post-match, just four days out from City’s Champions League playoff 2nd leg meeting with Spanish champions Real Madrid, the subject of Haaland’s fitness was in turn put to manager Guardiola.
The tactician, though, went on to quell any and all fears, in assuring:
“When he was down everyone was scared. He got up, walked, smiling like always. I didn’t speak to him, but the doctors didn’t come with bad news.”
