Man City star sends request to fans over Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal | OneFootball

Manchester City and Spain star Rodri has this week moved to send a message to fans and the media alike, regarding Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal.

The message in question? Do not pile the pressure too high on the shoulders of the 17-year-old.

Lamine is for his part of course currently making a name for himself as world football’s standout up-and-coming talent.

Already one of the first names on the team sheet of Hansi Flick’s Barcelona, the attacker is fresh off clinching both collective glory with Spain at the European Championships, and individual by way of the Kopa Trophy.

With such success, at such an early age, comes inevitable outside pressure, with Lamine having already drawn early comparisons with eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi.

As alluded to above, on Tuesday, the most recent ‘Golden Ball’ winner has in turn moved to urge those across the football landscape not to overdo it when it comes to their expectations for the winger.

Speaking during an interview with COPE, Rodri, an international teammate of Lamine’s, was drawn on the talents of the Barcelona prodigy.

And, in his response, the sidelined midfielder pleaded:

”Don’t put so much pressure on him.”
