Last season’s defeated finalists take on the high-flying Eagles
Manchester City and Crystal Palace are set to lock horns in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
Pep Guardiola will face off against Oliver Glasner in a mouth-watering encounter at Wembley Stadium.
City defeated Nottingham Forest in their semi-final to book their place in Saturday’s showpiece, while Palace dispatched Aston Villa 3-0 to reach their first final since 2016.
On that day, the Eagles, managed by Alan Pardew, were downed by 2-1 City’s rivals Manchester United, under the guidance of Louis van Gaal, who was sacked just days after.
Jason Puncheon opened the scoring on 78 minutes for Palace, before Juan Mata equalised just three minutes later to force extra-time.
Jesse Lingard scored a dramatic winner with 110 minutes on the clock to hand the Red Devils their 12th FA Cup.
Saturday’s final will be Man City’s only chance for major silverware this term, with Guardiola’s side only winning the Community Shield at the start of the campaign.

City are in a battle for Champions League qualification in the Premier League, having been usurped by newly-crowned champions Liverpool.
City sit fourth in the table, two points clear of Aston Villa in sixth, as they look to consolidate a top-five finish.
Palace, meanwhile, are 12th, but they are unbeaten in their last five games since their 5-0 thrashing by Newcastle United last month.
They earned a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium against Arsenal, before holding Champions League-chasing Nottingham Forest to a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park.
In their most recent outing, they dealt a 20th league defeat to Ange Postecoglou as they beat Tottenham 2-0 in north London.
Man City vs Crystal Palace is scheduled for a 4.30pm BST kick-off on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
The match will take place at Wembley Stadium in London.

For City, Guardiola has a full squad to pick from bar four.
Of those four, John Stones, Oscar Bobb, and Nathan Ake are out for the season with thigh and ankle injuries respectively.
However, Ballon d’Or winner Rodri has been reintegrated back into team training following his anterior cruciate ligament injury that he sustained against Arsenal last year.
Guardiola said at the start of the month that as soon as the doctors approved the Spaniard to play, then he would. Watch this space.
As for Palace, Adam Wharton is the big dilemma as he strives to recover from an ankle ligament issue which forced him out of the Eagles’ win at Spurs.
Glasner said that if everything were to go right, there would be a “90% chance” of Wharton playing at Wembley.
Long-term absentees Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure are still sidelined.
In recent years, Palace have proved a thorn in City’s side, beating them at the Etihad Stadium twice since their return to the top flight.
That said, they have only defeated them once in London in that time - a 2-1 win at Selhurst Park in April 2015, where Glenn Murray and Puncheon were on the scoresheet.
Glasner’s side made light work of a good Villa side in the semi-finals, and dismantled Tottenham with relative ease last week.
However, City have plentiful experience in cup finals, and that will count for a lot here.
