Manchester United outcast Marcus Rashford won’t be joining AC Milan who have reportedly turned their attention towards another transfer target.

The 27-year-old hasn’t stepped a foot on the pitch in the Red Devils’ last nine fixtures across all competitions. It all started when Ruben Amorim decided to expel him from the matchday squad against Man City in early December, and this has been the case ever since.

The manager initially revealed it was his ‘selection’, but following Sunday’s defeat to Brighton, he suggested that the player is the one who has asked to remain on the sidelines. But whatever the reason may be, Rashford has seemingly played his last game for the club, as a reconciliation appears to be off the table.

While several clubs have been mentioned as possible destinations, Milan emerged as the favourite to land the wantaway striker, with club advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic keen to reunite with his old Man Utd teammate.

Nevertheless, the Rossoneri can only sign one player from the UK in January, and the candidacy of Kyle Walker has been gaining steam in recent hours, which would effectively close the door on Rashford’s path towards Milan.

Moreover, several reports in Italy, including Calciomercato, are now claiming that the seven-time European champions have identified Joao Felix as their preferred target to bolster the attack in January. New Milan head coach Sergio Conceicao believes his compatriot can add some much-needed flair to the final third.

The 25-year-old signed for Chelsea in the summer, completing a £46 million transfer from Atletico Madrid. However, he hasn’t been able to lock himself a starting spot in Enzo Maresca’s formation, only making three starts in the Premier League this season.

As for Rashford, Borussia Dortmund appears to be his best bet at the moment to escape his Carrington woes.
