Inter President Beppe Marotta insists the approach ‘matters the most’ in tonight’s crucial Serie A game against Atalanta.

The defending champions visit third-placed Atalanta in a crucial match for the title race.

“Repeating success is always harder than winning the title,” Marotta told DAZN via TMW.

“The fact that we haven’t won direct clashes is just a statistical fact, but tonight, what matters is the approach. It’s a test against a team that deserves its position and can fight for the title until the end.”

Is there a lack of recognition for Inter’s results this season?

“In the moment when there is no positive result, criticism becomes exacerbated,” Marotta replied.

“We are professionals; we must get used to it and turn criticism into motivation. After all, we represent a prestigious club with important goals.

“Atalanta’s position is no coincidence but the result of a winning model,” Marotta concluded.

“Let’s remember Verona and Cagliari, successful experiences from our provincial Italy that, unlike Atalanta, were not able to sustain success. Atalanta have a model built on competence and passion, and they receive a winning response from their fans.”
