According to a report from RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Olympique de Marseille’s move for AS Roma midfielder Nicola Zalewski (22) has collapsed, despite an agreement in principle being found between the side from the Italian capital and OM. Instead, Italian sources indicate that the player is hoping to force a move to Inter Milan. As previously reported, Roma had set an asking price of around €5m for the player, after entering advanced negotiations earlier this month at the request of manager Roberto de Zerbi. Marseille were reportedly willing to finance the move by selling 17-year-old Enzo Sternal this window. Marseille have been in search of reinforcements in midfield during the ongoing winter transfer window with Canada international Ismaël Koné (22) likely to depart. As for Zalewski, the Polish international has played in 11 matches so far this season for AS Roma and has made 27 appearances for his national team in total. GFFN | George Boxall
