Gameweek seven of the 2025 MLS season was as entertaining as it was surprising, with mid-table San Jose Earthquakes producing the performance of the week.
Here are the best moments from this week’s action…
DC seemed anything but United as they succumbed to a 6-1 defeat at the hands of San Jose. Bruce Arena’s side have hardly set the league alight this term, so the performance was surprising to say the least.
Josef Martinez scored a hat trick while Cristian Espinoza bagged twice and got himself an assist, in what can only be described as a mauling.
Last season’s MLS Cup champions LA Galaxy are yet to register a win this term after seven games played. Their current record reads two draws and five losses, and manager Greg Vanney is facing increasing pressure to turn results around.
This term they have conceded 14 goals, the most of anyone in the league. They are the only team in the Western Conference still looking for their first win too.
Despite a Lionel Messi goal, Inter Miami did not have enough to get past Toronto FC, and were held to a 1-1 draw. Both goals were scored in added time at the end of the first half, in a game that lacked action.
Inter Miami are currently second in the Eastern Conference, whilst Toronto are 14th, and one of two teams in the Eastern Conference still looking for their first win.
Crystal Palace legend Wilf Zaha was on target for the first time since his debut this weekend against Nashville SC. The 32-year-old scored a penalty in the 85th minute to break his run of four games without a goal.
His effort inspired a turnaround and helped Charlotte beat Nashville 2-1, with Idan Toklomati scoring the winner in the 90th minute.
