According to Il Corriere della Sera, Milan and Inter directors have yet to reach an agreement over an ‘exit clause’ in their bid to buy the San Siro area, so they haven’t yet submitted their offer.
Milan and Inter were expected to send their plans and offers to buy the San Siro area in Milan, including the Stadio Meazza, but the City Council hasn’t yet received their proposal.
“You should ask the clubs what they are doing,” said Milan Mayor Beppe Sala, as quoted by Corriere della Sera.

“I believe they are continuing to work on it. Keep in mind that two companies and two boards of directors need to find an agreement before moving forward. I haven’t spoken to them, but I don’t think it will take too long.”
Sala already said he expected to receive the offer from the two clubs on Tuesday.
According to Corriere, the delay is caused by an exit clause that Inter and Milan’s directors are still discussing.
In other words, what happens if one of the two clubs decides to drop the project and focus their efforts elsewhere? One option is to allow one club to bring the project forward alone but with higher costs. The other one is to continue the plan only if both clubs are involved.
It’s no secret that Inter and Milan have been working on alternative plans in recent months. Milan identified San Donato as the ideal area for their new stadium, while Inter focused on Rozzano.
