Milan manager Sergio Conceicao confirms the club could complete at least one signing before the end of the January transfer window. After a breathtaking 3-2 home win against Parma, Conceicao admitted the Rossoneri could use some additions next week.
As the winter transfer session draws to a close, Milan are going to great lengths to sign Feyenoord center-forward Santiago Gimenez. Earmarked as the missing puzzle to complement a star-studded frontline, the Mexico international has reportedly agreed to join the Serie A giants on a multi-year contract.
However, negotiations with Feyenoord are progressing slowly. There’s still a distance between the Dutch club’s request and Milan’s offer. But with the player’s consent in the bag, Milan remain optimistic about closing the deal in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Conceicao hopes to strengthen his side in the final days of the transfer window.
“We’ll see. I’m not bluffing, but I’m focused on the players we have. After the Juventus match, I said we needed something more,” the Milan coach said, as reported by Calciomercato. “And I stand by that. So, I hope we can bring in that something extra; if not, we’ll go to battle with what we have.“
Conceicao and Milan captain Davide Calabria had a fallout after the final whistle on Sunday. Therefore, the underperforming right-back could start on the bench when the Rossoneri take on Dinamo Zagreb in a must-win Champions League fixture on Wednesday.
With Emerson Royal facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Kyle Walker could make his Milan debut in Croatia as Conceicao bids to lock down automatic Round-of-16 qualification.
