AC Milan steamed to victory against AS Roma in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday night – the management are over the moon with the result, and there is a big reason why.
Things are not going well domestically for Milan this season, this is something known by all parties and is a large reason for the mercato investment in January. However, there is still a lot of time to rectify things, and the Rossoneri have made a few steps towards that in January.
The Supercoppa Italiana success kickstarted the month, but inconsistencies between then and now frustrated fans. Against Roma though, there were no signs of this Diavolo, instead they were clinical.
Then, they were further empowered by the new signings Santiago Gimenez and Joao Felix, with the duo even combining to score the final Milan goal of the evening. In fact, their performances and the response to them were greatly ‘appreciated’ by the management, as Milan News write.
With the manner of both debuts, San Siro was back to its best, with fans on side supporting the team rather than voicing frustrations, and the credit for this lies with the actions taken during the mercato.
Frustrations about sustainability have often boiled over, but with the club putting their money where their mouth is, the frustrations have settled slightly, and support was voiced once again.
