Morgan Gibbs-White has been included in the England matchday squad for tonight’s clash with Latvia.
The Nottingham Forest midfielder was not part of the squad for Friday’s 2-0 win over Albania but is included ahead of tonight’s meeting with Latvia at Wembley. England take on Latvia as their 2026 World Cup qualification campaign continues.
Gibbs-White was a late call-up to the squad having been omitted from the original selection. Cole Palmer’s withdrawal through injury saw Gibbs-White selected, with the 25-year-old in the midst of an excellent season at Forest.
He has five goals and seven assists in the Premier League this season, for a Forest side who sit third and are closing in on Champions League qualification.
Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah has also been included after missing out on Friday’s fixture.
Elsewhere, Anthony Gordon has withdrawn from the squad through injury. The winger picked up an issue during Friday’s clash with Albania and has returned to Newcastle for treatment.
Club teammate Tino Livramento will also not feature tonight. The full-back did not play against Albania but has been left out of the squad, according to Sky Sports, with Myles Lewis-Skelly likely to retain his place at left-back.
Lewis-Skelly marked his England debut with a goal against Albania, becoming the youngest-ever player to score on their first appearance for the Three Lions.
Tonight’s meeting is the first-ever fixture between England and Latvia, who are separated by 136 places in FIFA’s world rankings.
