Napoli have joined Atletico Madrid and Saudi Pro League sides in the race to sign Darwin Nunez from Liverpool this summer.
Nunez is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the campaign after struggling to secure a regular role in the side.
The Uruguay international has failed to find consistent form since joining from Benfica for an initial fee of £64m in 2022. He has scored 40 goals in 140 games for the Reds but has started just eight times in the Premier League this season.
Liverpool turned down approaches in the region of £70m from Saudi Pro League sides in the January transfer window, as Arne Slot sought to retain his options for the Premier League title run-in.
However, the Premier League champions are open to proposals this summer and Corriere dello Sport claim Napoli are Nunez’s newest suitors.
Antonio Conte’s side are closing in on a second Scudetto in three seasons, with Napoli three points clear of Inter Milan with three games to go.
Ahead of their return to the Champions League next season, Napoli want to bring in another centre-forward to complement Romelu Lukaku and Giacomo Raspadori.
Napoli have funds to invest following the €70m sale of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain in January. The Italian side are also set to sell Victor Osimhen, when the Nigerian returns from his season-long loan spell at Galatasaray. Osimhen has a release clause of €75m and is a target for Premier League and Saudi sides.
