Newcastle United headed confidently to the final international break of the year after beating Nottingham Forest 3-1 in the Premier League yesterday.
The Magpies looked in trouble after Murillo nodded home the opener after 21 minutes.
However, Eddie Howe’s side came out with renewed energy after half-time and restored parity within nine minutes of the re-start.
Alexander Isak smashed the equaliser before setting up Joelinton for another, who curled in from the edge of the box.
Harvey Barnes added a late third as Newcastle picked up their third consecutive win in all competitions.
National media outlets praised the visitors’ performance at the City Ground, and they were hugely impressed with Dan Burn.
The Daily Mail called the 32-year-old a ‘giant in every sense’. The centre-back’s display earned him an 8/10 rating, with only Joelinton receiving a higher number.
Burn also posted impressive numbers in the match, but the bad news is he will have to sit out Newcastle’s next home fixture against West Ham United after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season.
He has been one of the key members of Eddie Howe’s team this season, starting all 11 Premier League matches.
