The latest Newcastle United player of the month has been announced by the club.

The award for games played throughout April 2025.

The winner this time is…  Jacob Murphy.

The winger in brilliant form.

Newcastle United player of the month official announcement – 2 May 2025:

‘Jacob Murphy has been named the men’s Sela Player of the Month for April, as voted for by Newcastle United fans.

The winger carried his relentless run of form into April, with goal contributions in four of his six matches, which helped the Magpies to finish the month third in the Premier League table.

Three assists – alongside his three goals – also fired Murphy into the top five of Newcastle United’s all-time Premier League assists leaderboard, joining fan favourites Laurent Robert, Rob Lee, Nolberto Solano and Alan Shearer.

“I wasn’t aware of that record but it’s very nice to hear I’m in such good company. I’m determined to get closer to the others now. It gives extra motivation to keep adding more assists and continue climbing up that chart,” said Murphy.

Eight years after joining the club, the boyhood Magpies fan has found the ‘form of his career’ on route to cementing his place on the right wing, appearing in 31 of the club’s 34 Premier League fixtures so far during the 2024/25 campaign.

“The focus for the rest of the campaign is now just to win all of the remaining games and secure Champions League football for next year.”
