Hansi Flick’s Barcelona are proving to be an unstoppable force, securing their seventh consecutive La Liga victory with a thrilling 4-2 win over Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano.

It is no secret that the German coach has transformed the team into a relentless attacking unit, and the numbers speak for themselves.

Barça have now scored four or more goals in 19 of their 43 official matches this season, demonstrating the attacking intensity Flick has instilled.

A look at their victims

Among their most notable victims are Real Madrid—who suffered a 0-4 defeat at the Bernabeu and a 2-5 loss in the Super Cup final—and Atletico Madrid, against whom they played out a dramatic 4-4 draw in the Copa del Rey before their latest La Liga triumph.

Bayern Munich, too, were humbled with a 4-1 loss, proving that Barça’s firepower is effective against Europe’s elite.

In total, the Catalan giants have found the back of the net 75 times in La Liga and 132 times across all competitions. Only Bayern Munich can match their scoring tally among Europe’s top leagues, though the German side has played one game fewer.

Beyond them, only four other clubs have surpassed 100 goals this season—PSG (113), Real Madrid (111), Bayern Munich (111), and Liverpool (106)—but all remain well behind Barça’s prolific numbers.

There is a record in sight

If the team maintains their current scoring rate of 3.06 goals per game, they could finish the season with an astonishing 187 goals.

This would put them within touching distance of the all-time club and European record set during the 2011-12 season under Pep Guardiola when Barcelona scored 190 goals, aided by Lionel Messi’s incredible 73-goal campaign.

With the possibility of playing up to 18 more matches, including potential finals in the Copa del Rey and Champions League, Flick’s side could be on the brink of writing their own chapter in football history.
