The former Norway U20 international is now plying his trade with MLS outfit Los Angeles FC, where he shares the pitch with once big footballing names like Cengiz Ünder, Hugo Lloris, and Olivier Giroud.
Speaking with Daily Record, the ex-Valerenga midfielder – who’s featured 16 times for Celtic since arriving in 2023 and failed to impress manager Brendan Rodgers – revealed that it was Japan international Reo Hatate who impressed him most at his parent club.
The 23 year-old said: “I think for me, the player I watched the most in training and who impresses me the most is Reo Hatate. Just his technical ability is crazy. The way he passes the ball and can see a pass, it’s a different level.”

Holm faced stiff competition for a spot in the starting lineup, going up against the likes of Hatate, skipper Callum McGregor, Paulo Bernardo, Luke McCowan, and Arne Engels.
The Norwegian also spoke highly of Engels, praising the Belgian international’s quality and pedigree. “It’s to be expected,” he remarked when discussing the competition and fresh faces within the Celtic squad.
“At a club like Celtic, they will bring players in and will always look to improve. It’s normal, it’s competition, and that’s just football. He’s a great player; I think he’s shown that. In his first season, he’s got double-digit goals and assists.”
Hatate and Engels have each played important roles in Celtic’s trophy-laden domestic season, helping secure the Premiership title and the Premier Sports Cup while also making their mark in European competition.
The pair now have their sights set on lifting the Scottish Cup later this month, a victory that would complete a sixth domestic Treble in nine years for the club.
