Official: Another Barcelona star signs new contract | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Friday announced a fresh contract renewal in the club’s first-team squad.

The player to have put pen to paper on terms with the Blaugrana? Gerard Martín.

Left-back Martín has of course enjoyed something of a breakout season to date in Catalunya’s capital.

After impressing with Barca Atlètic across the 2023/24 campaign, the 22-year-old has been afforded the role of backup to Alejandro Balde in Hansi Flick’s first-team squad.

And, evidently, across his 18 appearances to date, Martín has done enough to convince those behind the scenes of his readiness to contribute long-term.

This comes amid confirmation that, less than 24 hours on from Ronald Araújo’s new contract being announced, his defensive partner, too, has extended his Blaugrana terms.

As per a statement across Barca’s website and social media platforms:

‘FC Barcelona and Gerard Martín have reached an agreement to extend the player’s contract with the club until 30 June 2028.’
