Official: Lucas Gourna-Douath joins Roma from Salzburg | OneFootball

Luca Gourna-Douath is officially a new Roma player.

The capital club announced the midfielder’s loan acquisition from RB Salzburg right after the transfer deadline via an official statement on their website.

“AS Roma is pleased to announce that Lucas Gourna-Douath has joined from Red Bull Salzburg on a loan deal with an option to purchase,” it read.

“The 21 year-old midfielder came through the youth ranks at Saint-Etienne and broke into the first team aged just 17. After a few years in Ligue 1, in 2022 he moved to Salzburg and helped them win the Austrian Bundesliga in his first season at the club.”

“Gourna-Douath will wear the number 27 shirt at Roma.”

The deal also includes the option to make the transfer permanent for an estimated €18 million—though, the option becomes mandatory if certain sporting objectives are achieved.
