Barcelona will face off against Valencia in La Liga later tonight at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in La Liga, but will do so without key midfielder Pedri, the club has confirmed.
The Blaugrana announced the squad list for the clash against Los Che just a while ago with the star midfielder being absent from it because of gastroenteritis.
“First-team player Pedri misses today’s game due to gastroenteritis,” the statement from the club read.
As for the squad list itself, there are no new call-ups from the academy while Ansu Fati gets included for the second game in a row after being frozen out for four matches in a row.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Marc Bernal, Dani Olmo, and Inigo Martinez are the other absentees for the Blaugrana apart from Pedri.
There will be changes made to the team that started against Benfica in midweek, with Inaki Pena likely to return in goal in place of Wojciech Szczesny while there may be a start for Frenkie de Jong as well.
The likes of Fermin Lopez and Pablo Torre could also be in line to receive some minutes, with one of them potentially poised to start following Pedri’s last-minute absence.
