Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to start Francesco Acerbi at the back against Napoli. This evening’s Serie A matchday 12 clash kicks off at 20.45 CET.
Inter are playing their last match before the November international break.
And it’s a massive one. The Nerazzurri are taking on Napoli in Serie A.
Heading into the match Napoli are top of the table, level with Atalanta after the latter’s 2-1 win over Udinese.
And Inter are just a point behind the Partenopei.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri have the chance to overtake Napoli at the top of the table heading into the break.
However, doing so won’t be easy.
Moreover, Inter coming into this evening’s match off the back of a Champions League match against Arsenal on Wednesday.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi left out a number of regular starters from the starting eleven that match, although that did not prevent the Nerazzurri from winning.
Therefore, many big names are returning to the lineup this evening.
Firstly, Yann Sommer starts in goal. Therefore, the former Bayern Munich veteran continues his record of playing in every match for Inter so far this season.
Meanwhile, in defense Francesco Acerbi is back.
The former Lazio defender had been absent with a thigh injury since Inter’s Serie A match against Roma.
However, Acerbi takes the place of Stefan de Vrij at the heart of Inter’s back three.
Then, Benjamin Pavard and Alessandro Bastoni complete Inter’s defensive trio.
Next, on the flanks Denzel Dumfries and Federico Dimarco get the nod.
In midfield, meanwhile, it’s the usual first-choice trio of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Nicolo Barella.
Lastly, in attack Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram lead the line for the Nerazzurri.
In terms of injuries, only Brazilian international wingback Carlos Augusto is absent for Inter.
