Mehdi Taremi and Joaquin Correa both impressed in rare starts in yesterday’s Serie A clash between Torino and Inter Milan.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, praised the attacking duo for accomplished displays even without getting on the scoresheet.
Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi went with the “second string” in attack against Torino yesterday.
Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez was out with a muscle problem after Tuesday’s Champions League win over Barcelona.
Meanwhile, Marcus Thuram was hardly in any condition to start after playing two exhausting hours in midweek.
Therefore, Mehdi Taremi and Joaquin Correa got the nod in attack for Inter against Torino.

Neither Taremi nor Correa were able to get on the scoresheet yesterday.
But that was hardly a problem for Inter, as the Nerazzurri were able to rely on goals from Nicola Zalewski and Kristjan Asllani, the latter from the penalty spot.
Inter coach Inzaghi switched up the system. He played Taremi as a lone striker, with Joaquin Correa and Nicola Zalewski both playing behind the Iranian.
And that got the best out of both Taremi and Correa.
Former Porto striker Taremi did not manage to score. This will be a frustration considering his lack of goals for Inter overall.
Nevertheless, argues the Corriere, Taremi’s overall display was exactly what Inter required from him.
Moreover, it was Taremi who won the penalty for Inter’s all-important second goal.
Correa, meanwhile, had a few good chances. However, Torino keeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic was always equal to them.
Meanwhile, the switch in system allowed Correa to get involved in play more. And in this respect, the Argentine looked lively.
