Today, on his birthday, is the perfect day to remember a great legend of Club Deportivo Guadalajara, because with his love for the institution, his dedication, passion and goals, he did his bit to forge an epochal team: the true and only 'Campeonísimo' of Mexico. We are talking about Don Francisco Jara, who until the last day of his life showed us what it means to be a Chiva at heart.

Paco' Jara was born in La Perla Tapatía on February 3, 1941 and from his first moments as a soccer player he was characterized by his imbalance and ability to set up his teammates. The historic Rojiblanco made his debut with the team he loved in 1960 in a high-caliber match, one of those that shook the then quiet capital of Jalisco, in which the Rebaño defeated El Oro 2-1.

Two of his main virtues were his skills as a passer and as a free-kick taker, which helped him become one of the Rojiblancos with the most assists and goals from set pieces in the club's history. In addition, Jara remains one of the top scorers for Chivas in the Clasico de Mexico and also in the Clasico Tapatio, having scored seven goals against the capital club and six against the city's neighbors.

Within his impressive list of achievements with the Guadalajara jersey, Don 'Paco' Jara can boast 5 League championships, 3 Cup championships, 4 Champion of Champions and 1 CONCACAF Champions Cup.

"I am very proud to have been in the best team in the history of Chivas, because as a footballer he was and continues to be everything, I am proud to have played for Guadalajara because as a winger I am in eighth place among the club's goal scorers, it is a pride that no one can take away from me," referred Francisco Jara during a recognition that the institution made to him in life in 2018.

The historic Rebaño winger passed away on February 2, 2024 at the age of 82. He will always be remembered with affection and respect, for everything he gave to the Rebaño Sagrado during his time as a professional footballer, but also because off the field he always demonstrated his deep love for Club Deportivo Guadalajara in a thousand and one ways.
