Manchester City’s woes continue as Pep Guardiola and his side drew 1-1 at home with Everton on Boxing Day. This result comes after a 2-1 at Aston Villa last weekend, and now the Spanish manager wants the club to make bold moves in the January transfer window.

City have now won just one of their last 13 games across all competitions, missing a significant opportunity to get back on track when Erling Haaland’s second-half penalty was saved by Everton’s Jordan Pickford.

The Sky Blues continue to slip further behind, not just in the title race (which now seems out of reach) but also in the battle for a top-four finish. Nonetheless, with the transfer window set to open, Manchester City could look to bolster their squad.

Guardiola confirmed that Manchester City will be active in the January transfer window due to the impact of injuries on the squad.

“We have to add players,” Guardiola told Amazon Prime (h/t GOAL). “Definitely. Definitely. We struggle especially in the back and in the middle. I think we have to but I don’t know if it’s going to happen. The transfer window in winter is not easy.”

With under a month to regroup, City have a few weeks to find a way out of this poor form as they will face Paris Saint-Germain on January 22nd in Matchday 7 of the UEFA Champions League’s group stage.

Moreover, Manchester City are just inside the top 24 spots to advance to the next stage of the Champions League, but the Premier League side are 22nd with eight points, so a loss to PSG could see them drop out.
