Player Ratings: Juventus 0-0 Napoli – Goalless draw on Conte’s return | OneFootball

Football Italia was among the accredited media at the Allianz Stadium for Juventus–Napoli: here are the player ratings following a 0-0 draw between Antonio Conte and Thiago Motta’s sides.

Juventus

Di Gregorio 7 – Stunning save before the break. Juventus still haven’t conceded in Serie A this season.

Savona 6 – Kvara gave him a hard time in the first half and Savona was initially shaky when he had the ball, but he improved in the second half.

Kalulu 6.5 – Aggressive and fast, the early signs suggest he’s a good signing.

Bremer 6.5 – Won most duels against Lukaku and Simeone.

Cambiaso 6 – As usual, he played as an added central midfielder when Juventus were in possession. He was exhausted at the end of the game, so he made a few wrong decisions.

Locatelli 6.5 – Solid defensively. Been very reliable so far this season.

Nico Gonzalez 5.5 – Highs and lows, nowhere near the consistency he had had in the Champions League earlier this week.

McKennie 6 – Started for the second time in a row. A balanced performance to help the midfield but lacked quality in the final third. (80′ Thuram N/A)

Koopmeiners 6 – The Dutchman often moved towards the left flank to create numerical advantage against Di Lorenzo.

Yildiz 6 – He tried to score another curler a couple of times, but he was never in the ideal position. Lovely to watch with the ball at his feet, and he helped defensively as well.

Vlahovic 5 – A few poor touches, especially one on the edge of the box. Low in self-esteem, but his substitution during the break was still surprising. (46′ Weah 5.5)

Coach: Motta 6 – Juventus dominated possession, but Motta was unable to fill the box when he replaced Vlahovic.

Napoli

Meret 6 – Injured before the break. He hadn’t been too busy before it. (35′ Caprile 6)

Di Lorenzo 6.5 – Returned to his favourite right-back position and put in a solid performance against Yildiz.

Rrahmani 6.5  – Didn’t need much effort to stop Vlahovic.

Buongiorno 6.5 – Quite unexpectedly, a quiet night for the Italy international despite Motta’s twists and turns to make Juventus more dangerous.

Olivera 6.5 – Great defensive performance to frustrate Nico Gonzalez and a controversial back-pass in the second half. He was lucky to get away with it, whether it was intentional or not.

Lobotka 6.5 – Tidy with the ball at his feet and won many duels. (87′ Gilmour N/A)

Zambo Anguissa 6.5 – Napoli’s best midfielder so far this season. Did a lot of dirty work.

Politano 5.5 – The Italian had a chance in the second half, but he sent a curler over the crossbar. (72′ Neres 6)

McTominay 6.5 – Started his first Serie A game and played the full 90 minutes. Probably more convincing in the first half, but still a solid performance.

Kvaratskhelia 6 – Looked very dangerous in the first half, not so much after the break. (72′ Folorunsho 6)

Lukaku 5 – Fought hard on every ball, but it wasn’t enough. Not the first time he’s unconvincing against Juve. (72′ Simeone 6)

Coach: Conte 6 – Switched to a four-man defence, giving McTominay his first start in Serie A. Napoli tried to win the game in the first half, but after the break, they seemed pretty happy with the draw.
