Francesco Camarda’s name has been known in AC Milan spheres for years now, and the striker debuted last season at 15 years old. Now, at 17, the world is at his feet still.
The past few years have felt like a bit of a whirlwind, especially with Camarda, and it would be fair to suggest that it does not feel like the striker is still only 17. A prominent figure around the senior team, the youngster is very much the man of Milan’s future.
So, with today being a special day, Pianeta Milan have recapped some things. Last season was one of ‘true revelation’ as the site writes, making his debut among the big boys whilst still dominating in the youth scene.
Then, you have the summer of success with the Italian national team in the European Championship which further proved his ability as one of the best youngsters in the world.
This season, he has seen more continuity in his playing time in Serie A, and whilst not the man just yet, he has still shown himself to be a more than viable option for the side when needed. Furthermore, he was inches away from his first goal – against Club Brugge – more proof that he is ready for the big leagues.
Today being his birthday acts as a fantastic reminder. Most professionals will play until their early 30s, and touch wood, the same fact remains true for Camarda.
That is 13 years away still, Camarda is still, very much the future and the Rossoneri are ‘betting big’ on him, strange considering he can’t legally gamble yet himself, another reminder of his youth.
