Anything can happen in this week's Leicester lineup. The latest 4-0 defeat should mean that no one is safe. And this is particularly true after the club-wide news of two coaches being let go. Ruud van Nistelrooy faces a choice.
He could take the approach of his former club's boss, Ruben Amorim. The current Manchester United manager has shown little hesitation in terms of rolling out new players and benching others. However, RvN doesn't have the same level of available options he could turn to by comparison. At least on paper.
But many fans would like to see the Foxes give something of a new look. This is especially true concerning players who have dropped the ball and failed to live up to the badge. The team could turn to some deserving youth players. However, it's more likely that they'll elect to go with a similar cast.
Relegation is a high possibility. And it would make sense to change things up. Fans can sometimes forget that it's the staff who witness the training and on-field aspects of players firsthand. Often, the skill and overall gap is too large between the usual starting 11 and players who are deep on the bench for coaches to seriously consider a drastic switch-up.
There is a reasonable discussion to be had at RB. Woyo Coulibaly saw his debut start against Brentford. The Frenchman did well in his role and looked confident going forward. Van Nistelrooy appears set on seeing James Justin return as soon as possible, though.
The manager shared that they are looking to have him available for the Thursday encounter. This push likely indicates that if the defender is fit, then he's going to get the nod to resume his starting position. Seniority often wins out in these types of situations. And the younger newcomer, Coulibaly, knows that he'll need to overcome Justin in the coaches' eyes to solidify the spot on a permanent basis.
Most of everything else is going to stand pat. If the Foxes go down big again before the half, then expect a lot of changes. But for now, the Dutchman won't look to rock the boat too much. Even if this Leicester ship itself is sinking into the Championship:
Hermansen; Kristiansen, Faes, Okoli, Justin; Soumare, Ndidi; Mavididi, El Khannouss, Ayew; Vardy.
