A series of excellent saves from the Brazilian, who was at his best in Liverpool’s win at Bournemouth. Alisson pushed Justin Kluivert’s effort round the post before rushing out to stop Antoine Semenyo from close range. The best of the lot came to stop an own goal with outrageous reflexes palming the ball out from under him. A big performance in an important win for the Premier League leaders.
Endless energy, solid defensive work and real attacking threat. Daniel Munoz might be the best Premier League full-back no one is talking about right now. The Colombian made it consecutive Premier League games with an assist after squaring unselfishly for Jean-Philippe Mateta at Manchester United. His all-action game is the sort of wing-back threat their beaten opposition are craving.
A captain’s performance from Tarkowski, who led Everton to a third straight win. The 32-year-old led the contest for clearances (10) and won 100% of his aerial duels (3/3). There was also an assist with a measured pass in behind to release Beto in on goal.
Spurs might be in a desperate dash to bring in reinforcements but Ben Davies rarely lets anyone down. The Wales international was immaculate in the 2-0 win at Brentford, where he racked up 10 clearances and led an inexperienced side by example. An under-appreciated part of Ange Postecoglou’s side.
A sensational night for the teenager, as Arsenal thrashed Manchester City 5-1 at the Emirates. Lewis-Skelly barely misplaced a pass (92%), won 7/8 defensive duels and got himself on the scoresheet with a well-taken goal. After Erling Haaland’s dig at the defender in September, his celebration was a sweet moment of retaliation for the youngster.
Manchester City could not deal with his tenacity and power. The visitor’s legless midfield has been exposed repeatedly this season but perhaps not as badly as it was at Arsenal. Rice, a one-time target for the Citizens, was the Kryptonite to a team lacking energy in the engine room. He covered every blade of grass and helped himself to two assists in a statement win for the Gunners.
A standout showing on his 100th appearance for Nottingham Forest. Gibbs-White got the club’s 7-0 rout of Brighton underway with a low cross that Lewis Dunk diverted into his own goal, before netting the second with a fine header from Anthony Elanga’s corner. He won a penalty for Chris Wood to convert and stamped his mark on the game throughout.
Not for the first time, Liverpool’s hero. Salah sweetly struck a penalty in the bottom corner to open the scoring, before a moment of magic sealed the 2-0 win at Bournemouth.
Despite close attention, he curled a magnificent effort into the far corner for his 21st Premier League goal of the campaign. It’s now 178 goals in the Premier League for the Egyptian, who has moved past Thierry Henry and Frank Lampard in recent weeks. The top five looks likely to be entered before the season is done.
A hat-trick of assists on an afternoon to remember for Nottingham Forest. Anthony Elanga’s end product was criticised earlier in his career but he’s thrived at the City Ground. His assist haul made it 25 goals and assists in 18 months with the club, while the quality on offer against Brighton was elite. Some delicious deliveries from dead balls and open play were feasted upon by Forest’s forward line.
Chris Wood’s season just keeps on getting better. Three of the best for the New Zealand international, who headed in his first of the afternoon from Anthony Elanga’s delightful delivery. He picked up where he left off after half-time with two goals in quick succession to claim the match ball.
His hat-trick made it 17 goals for the season, the best return of his Premier League career. Only Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland have netted more.
Things haven’t quite worked out for Beto at Everton but this was a display that could kickstart his career with the club under David Moyes. Everton have often viewed the 27-year-old as a like-for-like replacement for Dominic Calvert-Lewin but played to his strengths in the 4-0 win over Leicester.
The forward raced onto James Tarkowski’s pass to slide in the second goal of a quick-fire start, before calmly stroking a finish past Mads Hermansen after being released by James Garner. A quality performance from a player who has the chance to stake his claim for a regular role.
