Middlesbrough and Norwich City face off this Saturday at the Riverside Stadium in EFL Championship.
Middlesbrough have won 63 points to date and are placed in 7th position. Last time out, Michael Carrick's team slipped to a 2-1 defeat against Sheffield Wed. (EFL Championship 2024/2025).
Norwich City have 53 points to their name this season and occupy 14th position in the table. In their last fixture, the Canaries suffered a 3-1 defeat against Millwall (EFL Championship 2024/2025).
The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 3-3 draw.
John Donovan (Twe12th Man ): A must win game for Boro against a dead rubber game for Norwich City, who are managerless after their defeat to Portsmouth. Obviously there will be little or no pressure on the Norwich team for this game, so they could be more relaxed and free to express themselves or the could have no desire for the game. Boro on the other hand will know the have to win, they'll know the Coventry score before kick off, so I'm hoping the motivation will be there to drive them on. But if I honest it's hard to predict what Boro performance we'll get, given our inconsistency this season.
Prediction: 3-1
Lucas La Torre (Norwich City FC Brasil - The Brazilian Canaries): Norwich City and Johannes Thorup follow different ways from now. It seems that his ideas for football did not match with the club and fans (or even players patience).
I was quite surprised because we were told it was an adaptation season, and that next year would be the big one, especially with investment (hopefully!) to push for a return to the Premier League.
Anyway, with nothing really to fight for, the club will face Boro, and the one looking to prove his worth is Jack Wilshere. Could he be the one chosen for next season? Who knows.
What we do know is that he's now under the watchful eyes of other potential managers, with names like Russell Martin and Daniel Farke in the mix.
As fans, we can only hope for the best and, most importantly, more ambition for the upcoming season. It’s clear that the new owners need to invest more if we’re to make a proper push.
And for now, a win away from home would be nice too, of course. On the ball, City!
