Barcelona youngster Vitor Roque, currently on loan at Real Betis, finds himself at the centre of transfer speculations as Brazilian giants Palmeiras push hard to sign him.

As has already been reported, Barcelona are happy to part ways with him and have agreed a €25 million transfer fee for 80% of his rights, with the remaining 20% being retained by the Catalans.

However, Real Betis have Roque on loan until the end of the season and have appeared reluctant to break the agreement thus far.

Final say with Betis

Now, Matteo Moretto has brought forward a fresh update on the situation surrounding Roque and his future.

As per the journalist, the 19-year-old Brazilian forward remains under Real Betis’ control until June, meaning the Andalusian club hold the final say on his future.

Palmeiras are pushing forward in negotiations with Barcelona, having proposed a loan deal with a mandatory purchase option in June set at €25 million for 80% of the player’s rights.

But, the biggest obstacle remains Betis’ unwillingness to let Roque leave early.

Manuel Pellegrini considers Roque a valuable asset in the squad and is hesitant to lose him without securing a replacement of equal quality, which is not possible at the moment as the transfer window in Spain is closed.

Meanwhile, Roque has already reached a verbal agreement with Palmeiras over personal terms and is ready to return to Brazil.

Barcelona, for their part, are not actively pressuring for Tigrinho’s exit but are naturally open to Palmeiras’ significant offer, as the forward does not feature in manager Hansi Flick’s long-term plans at the club.

Real Betis, though, remain in a waiting phase and are seeking compensation before allowing the move. While nothing is certain yet, discussions between all parties are ongoing, and a resolution could emerge in the coming days.
