Real Madrid star Aurélien Tchouaméni has moved to quell fears surrounding his wellbeing.
This, for those who missed it, comes after the Frenchman was forced into a premature departure from Real’s meeting with RCD Mallorca on Thursday night.
En route to a 3-0 victory in the Spanish Super Cup semi-finals, Tchouaméni featured from the off, at the heart of Los Blancos’ backline.
Early in the 2nd-half, however, the former AS Monaco man was involved in a heavy collision in the penalty area, leaving him grounded and in evident discomfort.
After attempting to run the problem off, Tchouaméni was ultimately hauled off by boss Carlo Ancelotti, looking less than stable on his feet on his way down the tunnel.
Speaking to the media in the game’s aftermath, the subject of his wellbeing was therefore put to the midfielder himself.
And Tchouaméni went on to confirm that he fully intends to play his part against Barcelona in the Supercopa showpiece on Sunday evening:
“I’m fine. The doctors advised me to come off because it could’ve been serious. Now I’m going to recover to play the next game.”
