Speculation is mounting over Harry Kane’s future at Bayern Munich, with Liverpool emerging as a potential destination if the England captain decides to return to the Premier League.

Former England legend Alan Shearer has hinted that Kane might consider a return to the Premier League, and if that happens, Anfield could be a serious option.

Since his high-profile move from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern Munich in 2023, Kane has thrived in Germany.

With Vincent Kompany’s team closing in on the Bundesliga title and still in the Champions League race, the England captain is on track to secure his first major silverware.

Harry Kane tipped to join Liverpool if he returns to England

However, Shearer believes that if Kane decides to return to the English top flight, Liverpool could be an attractive choice—especially with the Reds aiming to reinforce their attack with a top-class forward this summer.

Speaking to Betfair, the Premier League legend said:

“Liverpool will be looking for a centre-forward in the summer, I don’t doubt that and Harry Kane would be a great option for them because of the size of the club and he’ll score goals.

“Whether Harry decides to stay in Germany or he decides to come back to the Premier League, he’ll have options.

“I’ve always said that if he comes back to the Premier League then he’ll have a really, really good chance of breaking my record. I’m a huge admirer of him.”

Liverpool are bracing for a major attacking reshuffle, with Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, and Diogo Jota all linked with exits.

Reports suggest the club could cash in on Nunez and Jota, while Diaz remains a strong target for Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah’s future also hangs in the balance, as he could leave on a free transfer if a new contract agreement isn’t reached. However, a recent update from Egyptian media has given fans renewed hope of an extension.

Should Salah depart, Liverpool would need a marquee signing to fill the void—and Kane, with his elite finishing and vast experience, could be a perfect fit.

At 31, the England captain remains one of the most prolific goal-scorers in world football and is currently valued at around €90 million.

Kane’s quest for the Premier League goal record

Kane’s legacy is deeply tied to Tottenham, where he became the club’s all-time leading scorer and won three Premier League Golden Boots. With 213 Premier League goals to his name, he is second only to Shearer’s record of 260.

A return to England would give him the perfect platform to chase that milestone, and Liverpool—a club that consistently competes for silverware—could provide the ideal setting.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Kane’s future remains one of the biggest talking points, with Liverpool potentially in the mix for his signature.
