Inter Milan will earn as much as €15 million from the sale of Tajon Buchanan if Villarreal sign him permanently.
This according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com. They report that the Nerazzurri are bringing in a €2 million loan fee for the Canadian, whilst the purchase option in the deal is set at €13 million.
Now it’s official. Buchanan has left Inter to join Villarreal.
The 25-year-old has made the switch to the La Liga side on loan for the rest of the season.
However, Villarreal also have a purchase option in the deal.
There is a sense that one way or another, Buchanan’s time at Inter is up. The Canadian has not been a regular in the team, and has decided to leave in search of more playing time.
Inter have already pocketed a loan fee of €2 million, reports Calciomercato.com.
However, that figure could rise significantly should Villarreal sign Tajon Buchanan on a permanent basis.

The La Liga club have a purchase option. It is not a mandatory obligation, and reports have not indicated whether there are any conditions which would trigger it.
However, Calciomercato.com do report that the fee that Villarreal would have to sign Buchanan on a permanent basis would be €13 million.
Therefore, Inter could earn a total of €15 million if Villarreal sign Buchanan permanently this summer.
Villarreal were not the only team to show an interest in Buchanan’s signature.
In Serie A the likes of Monza and Torino identified Buchanan as a potential January reinforcement. Roma also reportedly inquired about the possibility.
Then, Ajax also showed an interest in the Canadian’s signature.
